TJ Ciaravino, Honoree of “40 Under 40″

SGB Weekly Magazine and the SportsOneSource Group has announced The 6th Annual “40 Under 40” honorees. Among this list of 40 outstanding honorees are TJ Ciaravino, VP of Sales and Marketing for Worldwide Sport Supply.

The “40 Under 40” contain an elite group of sporting goods industries best and brightest young professionals that are shaping the future of our market. Each year, 40 sporting goods industry individuals, under the age of 40, who demonstrate characteristics that allow our industry to continually progress with the following attributes: Leadership, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Energy are selected.

The 2013 “40 Under 40” list began with over 400 nominations that were submitted by people who work with and for them everyday. This list was then reviewed by editors and analysts from the SportsOneSource Group and finally voted on by a group of industry leaders and former honorees. Nominees of “40 Under 40” can only make the list once in their career and are members for life.

Individuals this year are from all corners of the sporting goods industry. Along with TJ, some of the honorees include: Aimee Arana, Action Sports, Nike Inc., Scott Daley, Head Of Classics, Reebok International, David Mosse, Chief Strategy Officer and General Counsel, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Joey Pointer, CFO, Fleet Feet Sports, LLC. This is a huge honor for each individual, especially TJ because it is very rare that members from the “team business” are selected. This goes to show that his management, originality, and vigor are really making a presence in the industry.

Honorees will be celebrated in the May Issue – The Cover Story of SGB Magazine and also in the May 6th Issue with a picture and biography of each honoree. Please congratulate TJ as this is a remarkable honor that speaks volumes for Worldwide Sport Supply and its future.

New Faces at Worldwide!

Sorry for our short absence, exciting things have been happening here at Worldwide! Only a little over a month into the New Year and we have added four new sales guys to the Worldwide Team! If you see us at an event, make sure you stop in and meet the new guys!

Scott Fisher brings to the team an extensive sales background through his work with Coldwell Banker GTD Real Estate, where he spent 14 years as a Sales Representative and four years as Corporate Trainer and Manager. In years past, Scott has participated in many community service and volunteer projects through the Greater Binghamton Associations of Realtors. Scott also actively engages in sporting activities with his family.

Martin Dyson joins the team after 13 years with YMCA, of which he spent eight years serving as the Director of Health and Wellness. In his previous capacity, Martin helped to establish programs such as the YouthWellnessCenter, LIVESTRONG ®, and the Diabetes Prevention program. Martin also has a Sports Science Degree and has spent much of his life being an active athlete.

Kirk Hayes comes to the team with a strong sales background, having spent 16 years as Sales Manager for Penguin Group USA. In addition, he’s actively involved in his community as a youth softball coach, member of the Windsor Booster Club and former treasurer of the Bell School PTO. Sports have been a large part of his life, growing up in a family of eleven siblings.

Anwar Goeres brings to the team an extensive knowledge on wrestling, having been a former wrestling athlete. Anwar wrestled for BU and was a two-time Division I National Qualifier, as well as being a four year starter at the 141 weight class. Though his competitive career is over, he is still committed to the sport by serving as a NY State Official and Assistance Coach for Johnson City wrestling.

The Future is Bright!

As the time comes for this season to slow down, you may think it is too early to be talking about what’s in store for next year’s wrestling gear. 10th Annual Journeymen/ASICS Northeast Collegiate Wrestling Duals

For the past four years, we have had the privilege of being part of Journeymen/ASICS Northeast Collegiate Wrestling Duals, one of the most successfully run college wrestling tournaments in the country. Each year we get to meet up with many Upstate New York and Northeastern U.S. wrestling fans of all ages that come out to watch some of the best wrestling in the country.

Journeymen/ASICS Northeast Collegiate Duals has taken the wrestling world by storm. It is widely recognized as one of the best early season collegiate wrestling events in the country. They help promote, showcase, and educate students and coaches about amateur wrestling throughout the region and beyond. Be sure to come meet the UFC Hall-of-Famer, Chuck Liddell on November 23rd.

Cliff Keen Coaches’ Clinic!

                The 4th Annual Cliff Keen Wrestling Coaches’ Clinic presented by Worldwide Sport Supply and NYSPHSAA is coming up soon! Learn from the Top Names in wrestling here to help develop your program, learn engaging drills, and build your technique arsenal. Don’t forget to register here online! The event will be held on Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, October 28th in Vestal, NY. There is FREE admission to this event for all Coaches!! On Sunday it will open to all athletes and parents for a $25 admission fee.
